We regularly visit spice farms and have direct communication with partner farmers which is essential for fostering strong relationships and ensuring transparency in the supply chain. By personally visiting the farms and engaging in video calls, we are taking proactive steps to understand the farmers' practices, challenges, and needs firsthand. These personal interactions demonstrate more our commitment to building sustainable, long-term partnerships based on trust and mutual respect.

We work closely with partner saffron farmers to forecast annual purchase volumes. Maintaining long-term farmer partnerships is an ongoing process that we are committed which leads to farmers’ success.
Environmental Impact
We've been laying a lot of the groundwork to significantly reduce our carbon footprint. Beginning in 2023, Sufi committed to being plastic neutral . You may have noticed more of your packages coming in pouches rather than boxes — that’s to reduce the weight and size of the orders for more efficient shipping.

We also transitioned our PET container labels to an APR-approved Clean Flake label substrate that allows the labels to be removed from the containers more easily during the PET recycling process, helping to improve PCR quality.

A Letter from the Co-Founder
My a-ha moment happened one hot day in Sydney when I realised Aussies were missing out on the real saffron. Not the powdery stuff sold in supermarkets. The real, pure, saffron threads with bright colour, tasty flavours and a distinct aroma. I’d grown up on Saffron farms and took high-quality saffron for granted. It was time to spread the word.
I’ve lived in Australia for over 14 years and I like to call it home. I’m a family man with a loving wife and three wonderful children. Like most Australian families, we take our peaceful and happy life for granted. Sadly, this wasn’t always the case. In my past life, back in Afghanistan, I worked as a legal advisor for Afghan orphans . They’d lost livelihoods and loved ones during the war. It was during this time that my heart was pulled and my passion to give back was cemented. I witnessed many women struggling to raise their families as they’d lost their husbands during the war. My family owns a Saffron farm. This was the answer. We employed women, providing fair wages and teaching them new skills. We supplied high-quality saffron to retailers across Australia and Europe. I’m proud to be one of those Australian importers– we sell you the best saffron – and give back to the causes we believe in.
